Specific Job Description:

Serves as a support to the Program Manager, providing system administration, maintenance, and customer support to standard Windows based desktop computers and their operators at the customer sites.

Duties and qualifications, identifying both essential and marginal duties: Specific duties include the installation, configuration, maintenance and deployment of Windows based workstations, laptop configuration and maintenance, isolation of system problems and troubleshooting application errors. Applicant should possess good customer service skills in addition to image cloning and basic network connectivity resolution skills.

Applicant will also need to develop a good working relationship with external agencies in order to resolve problems that require access to those areas, including network closets.

Knowledge of IT concepts such as TCP/IP, ATM, LAN/WAN networking. Knowledge of IT security concepts and practices. Interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills. Strong written/verbal communications skills. Desired: MCSE or Equivalent Certification.

Standard Job Description:

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Typical Minimums:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.

Satellite Field Technician Sr.

Specific Job Description:
  • Provides satellite telecommunications systems design support for all aspects of technical operations.
  • Is knowledgeable in terrestrial and satellite communications systems, both commercial (Ku/Ka) and government/military (X/Ku/Ka) applications and equipment.
  • Global enterprise network design and infrastructure support.
  • Works directly on problems that are moderately to highly complex to analyze, plan, program and operate communications systems.
  • Gathers data from other program elements to form the overall plan for design and technical execution.
  • Confers with functional area experts and/or authorities to determine system requirements
  • Analyzes technical problems within the program and makes recommendations based on input from the government customer, prime contractor and other Omega personnel.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Technician required monitoring, controlling and identifying potential failures in satellite communications related to the Deployed Digital Training Campus Teleport and fly-away kits.
  • Installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs switches, cables, and other telecommunications equipment in the field to ensure optimum network usage and quality.
  • Individual will be responsive to customer needs down range to complete communication links.
  • Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor. Employee handles ongoing assignments. Supervisor sets objectives, employee sets deadlines/plans tasks. Review based on meeting objectives.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Expectation is that the Teleport System will provide 100% operational availability for the duration of the contract.

Typical Minimums:

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Requires 2-4 years of related experience.
  • Systems Engineer

    Location: Colorado Springs, CO
    Clearance Needed: TS
    General Purpose of the Job:

    • Provides network systems design support for all aspects of terrestrial local and metropolitan area networks communications technical operations
    • Is knowledgeable in network programming of both commercial and government terrestrial and space communications systems, applications and equipment
    • Experienced Voice and Video Engineer capable of integrating diverse communication protocols in less than optimal scenarios
    • Works directly on problems that are moderately to highly complex to analyze, plan, program and operate communications systems
    • Gathers data from other program elements to form the overall plan for design and technical execution
    • Will coordinate communication systems Information and Assurance requirements to ensure developed systems are DITSCAP/DIACAP compliant
    • Confers with functional area experts and authorities to determine system requirements

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Advises corporate management of systems engineering principles and disciplines for government programs
    • Processes, maintains and updates project file and system configuration documentation
    • Responsible to project and corporate managers for systems engineering activities, management and input to project plans
    • Coordinates Government Program system engineering requirements with Omega Program Managers, prime and subcontractor Managers, and Government/Customer Managers
    • Capable of translating complex contract requirements, engineering documentation, and business process collateral into professionally written system configuration documentation
    • Interacts with senior management, customers and suppliers
    • Responsibilities include monitoring contract compliance, preparing reports and projections for multiple programs and projects
    • Ensures technical risk and issues management is current, robust and relevant
    • Provides management background information, lessons learned, and performance inputs

    Other Skills and Abilities Needed:

    • Intellectual: Some knowledge and competency in DOD Systems Management principles, disciplines and activities
    • Interpersonal: Ability to interface at all levels of the company, with customer organization’s contract, technical and project managers
    • Leadership: Ability to persuade and present requirements to technical, management and other leadership working groups; present a professional systems engineering program to corporate members and teammates
    • Organization: Ability to maintain complete program organization, tracking, records and plan for upcoming events
    • Self Management: Must be self-starter able to manage personal work schedule and tasks

    Education:

    • Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering
    • Desired: Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering in addition to B.S. shown above.
    • Certified CCNA minimum, CCNP or CCDP preferred

    Specialized Equipment, Machines, or Vehicles normally used in the course of the duties assigned: Network Management System, Network Protocol Analyzer, LAN Tester, and Cable Test Set
