Tactical Data Network (TDN) Suite

Omega Systems' Tactical Data Network Suite is a modular enterprise network, that can be deployed in the harshest environments.   Designed specifically for military and homeland security applications, the TDN Suite can provide military units and first responder agencies with deployable phones, video teleconferencing, email, file and print services on the go.

The systems are designed to meet each organizations specific mission requirements.  Our design is modular allowing scalability to support small, large or medium deployment requirements.   Using commercial off-the-shelf components, we integrated each component into the appropriate modular transit case and provide hardened connections to our TACSEP signal entry panels.  The TACSEPreduces setup time and complexity dramatically ensuring that full network operations are established rapidly.  Setup time is normally less than 20 minutes for a TDN Suite.

The Tactical Data Network Suite is your solution for enterprise computing and networking support for military and homeland security operations.

TDN Suite for the Military

Designed with commercial off-the-shelf components, the TDN Suite provides our military customers with a network capable of running military command and control applications.  Built with the right components, our TDN Suite delivers the computing power to run applications like CPOF, C2PC, FCBC2, and ASAS.  The networking components are also powerful enough to handle the demands of the Global Command and Control System (GCCS) and Defense Messaging System (DMS) with ease.

TDN for Homeland Security

First responders need rapidly deployable communications to support emergency service operations.  History has taught us that in virtually every disaster or terrorist attack, communications systems will not be available.  The TDN suite offers first responders with the best solution available for deploying an enterprise level network to the disaster area.   The TDN suite can provide first responders with access to the Incident Command System (ICS) and support  processing of critical GIS information. In addition, the TDN Suite is a robust command and control platform for consequence management.

Ruggedized for Environmental Protection

TDN Suite components are mounted in rigid rackmount transit cases that are vibration protected, and shock/vibration protection for the most sensitive electronic equipment.  All components are installed using shock absorbent washers and grommets to add additional resistance to vibration caused by transit operations and the mobile nature of military and homeland security agencies.

As part of our innovative process, we have developed two products that provide additional protection to the TDN Suite when deployed in harsh environments.   Our TACSEP, signal entry panels provide protection to equipment by by providing external connections to all interior component devices.   The TACSEP is custom configured to supply the connection types you need for a rapid setup and quick delivery of network services to your users when deployed.  The other product is our OmegaShield Sand and Dust Kit manufactured from light-weight durable fabrics that when installed protect your critical components from destructive sand and dust particles without increase internal operating temperatures to unacceptable limits.

Secure Computing and Networking

Whatever your specific security requirements are, the TDN Suite can be configured to support your needs.  Previous production runs have produced systems meeting SIPRNET and NIPRNET requirements for processing and storing up to SECRET data.  If only Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) is required, we offer a full range of firewall/VPN solutions that meet the governments' stringent FIPS-140 information assurance standards.

Modular Design

The modular design of the TDN Suite allows us to build a tailored solution to meet the specific needs of any organization.  It also provides a mechanism to scale to fit any number of users in the field whether a it's a battalion, division, incident response team, or an entire Civil Support Team.

  • Application and Server Module (ASM).   The ASM provides a robust server platform for running virtually any server application your organization needs.  Past implementations have provided support for the Defense Messaging System (DMS), command and control applications, position location information systems, email, GIS, and other services.

  • Data Storage Module (DSM).  Data backup and recovery is paramount for Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Continuity of Government (COG).  We provide a storage and recovery solution that fits your operational and mission requirements. Our data storage components range in capability from  tape backup systems to full storage area network (SANS) systems.

  • WAN Services Module (WSM).  The TDN Suite provides all the services and network functions local users will need to accomplish mission objectives.  However, the TDN Suite needs remote connectivity to reach back services.  The WSM is the connection to long-haul transport services through routers configured and capable of handling any amount of data traffic.

  • LAN Services Module (LSM).  The LSM connects users, IP phones, and other switchable devices on the tactical local area network.  Our LSM incorporates advanced switching that provide 1000/100 baseT auto-sensing ports.  We also offer programmable switches that support VoIP call management systems for outbound and inbound calling.

  • Communications Security Module (CSM).  Whether your requirements are for Type-1 encryption support transmission of classified data or reliable Firewall/VPN support, the CSM will deliver the information assurance level you need.

  • Power Module (PM).  The TDN Suite requires power to run and the PM delivers all the uninterrupted power the other modules and components will need.  Included with the PM is a lightning arrest kit that will protect the suite from a direct lightning strike, a grounding kit, and industrial surge protection.  Normally the TDN Suite operates under field conditions receiving its power from portable generators and needs to have conditioned power supplied to the components.

The Total Solution

When integrated with our Deployable Communications System (DCS) the TDN Suite becomes a total communications system providing voice (VoIP), VTC, Email, and Collaborative services with global reachback.
